Top 3 Moisturizers For Dry Skin

I moved to Los Angeles to not have to deal with the cold weather and here we are.

My skin is dry. I used to think I had combination skin until I listened to my esthetician friend who told me “wash your face and put nothing on it for 15 minutes, your skin will either be oily, dry or combination.” That is the day I found out my skin is indeed, dry AF.

Since moving to LA and dealing with less humidity (less moisture in the air) and now cold winters, I have been on the hunt to find the most hydrating moisturizers on the market. I wish I tried every moisturizer out there, but this round up is from the years of being a blogger and having endless amount of skincare. My skin has been around the block if you know what I mean. Now let’s get into my 3 faves!

  1. Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

She’s number 1 because she’s really that chick. The price point may be up there, but a little goes a long way. She’s also the kind of girl that when you pull her out in front of your friends they instantly know you have good taste. My skin sucks this product up! I love using it in the morning because it layers perfectly with my sunscreen. The ingredients include Japanese purple rice and hyaluronic acid which give you that plump, hydrated, moisturized look. If you’re looking for a glow the Dewy Skin Cream is your girl.

2. Laneige Water Bank Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer

The name really speaks for itself. Since I’m a dry skin girlie, I immediately felt the water hydrating my skin while using this moisturizer. It’s such a lightweight cream, but she be working over time. Love this moisturizer. It’s really good at night if you want to wake up with really hydrated skin. You will see the glow and the Laneige Water Bank Cream layers well because she’s not as THICC!

3. Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer

This one is new to me, but not new in the skincare world! I received this in pr and chileeeee. The way Peter Thomas Roth has been one of my new favorite brands. This moisturizer and their sunscreen have turned me into a fan. The moisture level in this moisturizer is the truth! It’s very similar to the last moisturizer, except there is something about the texture of this one that I love. It just melts on my skin! It’s sooo good. I got sad when I ran out of my first jar and instantly had to get more. This moisturizer also helps with fine lines and wrinkles. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking for those things in skincare these days. With that being said, the Water Drench Moisturizer had to make the list!

And that is it. You can’t go wrong with either one of these moisturizers! If you try one of these definitely let me know. Happy Skin-caring!

Morning Skincare Routine For Dehydrated Skin

Hey hey my skincare lovers!

I don’t know about you, but I started off quarantine with some very interesting skin. I honestly never seen my skin look like that before. I know it was a combination of me not getting enough sleep, being stressed about work, worrying about getting sick and not keeping up with my skincare routine. Honestly, there were days when I was too lazy to shower, so skincare was the last thing on my mind.

2 weeks after I neglected my skin, I noticed it was super dry, flaky and my skin was not absorbing anything I put on it. I stopped everything I was doing and switched up my whole routine. I went through my lovely skincare stash (I need to do a massive giveaway ASAP) and turned my face all the way around. I got my skin back to normal, but it still wasn’t as hydrated as I wanted it to be. I like my skin to be glowing at all times. That’s when I switch to this skincare routine below and now I have THE ultimate glow. (Click the title if you want to check out the products)

Step 1: Cleanse using the DermaE Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water foam cleanser

This cleanser does exactly what it says. It hydrates and cleans your skin by gently removing the dirt and keeping all the moisture! It seriously one of my new favorite cleansers. If you like foam cleansers, then this one is a must try!

Step 2: Tone using the DermaE Radiance toner

What I’ve learned over the years, is that alcohol based toners aren’t for me. Some people love toners that have alcohol in it, but because my skin needs ALL the moisture I use alcohol-free toners. This toner is alcohol-free and has glycolic acid in it, which my skin loves. After I started using this toner I definitely noticed a nice glow to my skin.

Step 3: Add your serums. I always start with my vitamin C serum then follow up with whatever my skin needs at the time.

I go between the Farmacy Very Cherry Vitamin C Serum which I absolutely love. It’s the top Vitamin C serum I’ve ever used if you ask me. If I want to save my expensive stuff and use something that is pretty good and a fraction of the price, I use the Versed Stroke of Brilliance Brightening Serum. Both great and really helps even my skin.

Step 4: Moisturize using the Avene Hydrance Aqua Gel Cream

No exaggeration, this is one of THE best moisturizers I’ve ever had. My skin just sucks it all up lol. I didn’t realized I loved gel moisturizers until I used this and now I feel weird using creams. This has a nice cool sensation to it, that your skin will love and leave you looking like a butterball….in a good way!

Step 5: Seal it in using the DermaE Radiant Glow Face Oil

This oil is full of goodness! It has jojoba, argan, and seabuckthorn oil in it to make the perfect glow on your skin. I’m on my 3rd bottle of this oil and I don’t want it to ever end. It really makes my skin soft, super hydrated, and very glowy.

Step 6: NEVER forget your sunscreen!!

I don’t go a day without my sunscreen. The sunscreen I’ve been using for the past few years is Black Girl Sun Screen. I love SuperGopp Unseen sunscreen as well, but I have to do it for the culture. Black Girl Sun Screen is amazing, has no white cast which is super important and doesn’t feel too thick on my skin. My makeup lays perfectly on top of this full routine and I never have problems. It’s also super affordable, which is always a plus!

Is Murad Prebiotic Skincare really good!?

Hey Skincare lovers!

It’s our favorite day of the week…Sunday! Sunday Funday, Self-care Sunday and my favorite, Skincare Sunday! Sunday’s I love to just wind down with a good skincare routine and maybe try out some new products. Last month, I started using the new Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 Multicleanser and 3-in-1 Multimist. I received the products as a gift and couldn’t wait to try them out, especially since my skin was feeling super dry due to the winter weather. And before you say anything, I traveled to the east coast and it was actually cold cold not Los Angeles cold, so my skin needed some hydration.

I started by using the Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 Multicleanser every morning and every night. This cleanser is not a cleanser that lathers. It’s more like a gel and oil mix that is breaking down your makeup while you use it. I use it in conjunction with my Clarisonic Mia and I can see all the excess dirt that my makeup wipes missed. The prebiotocs in this cleanser is supposed to balance your skin’s microbiome for healthier looking skin. So far, I’m a fan! I like the way my skin feels after I use it and I can actually feel how clean my face is. It doesn’t dry my skin out, which is a plus during the cold weather. After completing my skincare regimen, I spray the Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 Multimist. This mist is phenomenal. I used to not understand the hype about hydrating mist until I started using this one. They’re amazing! You can spray them throughout the day and they act as a setting spray for your makeup, so you don’t have to worry about the mist messing up your beat! It’s a good daily skin refresher if you feel like your skin is feeling extra extra dry.

After a month of usage, I’ll give the new Murad Prebiotic line a thumbs up! The prebiotic is doing exactly what I expected. My skin is looking healthier and has a glow to it that can’t be found in the Winter time! Nothing beats a makeup remover that moistures your skin too. If you’re interested in trying these products, I’ll link both items on the pictures below. Ulta is currently having a deal where if you buy the cleanser you can get the mist for free! Definitely check it out. Happy Skincare Sunday guys!

My Skincare Regimen

We live in a generation where we rather cover up our skin problems with makeup opposed to having good skin with or without makeup. With that being said, I enjoy both makeup and skincare products because I want to actually wake up FLAWLESS!

I have really oily skin and for the longest time I would skip out on putting moisturizer on my face because I didn't want to add more oil into my oily skin. Sounds like it makes sense right? Well I went to that good ole Sephora one day and this super saleswoman convinced me into buying the Boscia Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask. She said that it is better to add moisturizers and oils into your skin so your skin won't try to produce it's own oils throughout the day. She promised me if I bought this product and used it at least 4 times a week I would stop having oily skin. Now the product was $34, but I believe if you want nice skin you have to invest in your skincare products. I mean we spend $30+ at the nail shop every two weeks when we could easily do our own nails but that's not that point lol. She tried to convince me to get this Boscia oil and matching moisturizing cream but they were $46 a piece....ummmm no. I did get samples of them both and loved the products a lot. As an alternative this is what I've been doing:

I use my Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel as my daily face wash. At night when I'm wiping off my makeup I first apply coconut oil all over my face, remove the makeup and coconut oil with a makeup wipe, wash my face with the Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel, and lastly I apply the Boscia Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask. In the morning I just rinse my face and the Boscia Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask in the shower and my skin is baby soft. When I get out of the shower I add a drop of Almond oil on my skin (my replacement for the expensive Boscia oil) and then I add any current moisturizing lotion that I have. I guess the Sephora worker was right because I've been less oily throughout the day by adding my own oils and moisturizers.

If you are looking for a new daily face wash, try out the Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel. It's a drugstore product so it's very inexpensive and it actually helps remove oils from my skin. We all have different skin issues but these two products have been working great for me the past couple of months. I'm always open to trying new products so what's some of your favorite skincare products? Or just let me know your skincare regimen. =)
